Matt Osler

Matt Osler is RockStar Weekly's radio and concert specialist. He has been covering live rock music across Canada for the better part of a decade, attending shows ranging from arena tours by major international acts to club performances by emerging Canadian bands.

In 2011 alone, Osler attended over 80 concerts across British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario, producing reviews that have become a consistent part of RockStar Weekly's live coverage. His background in rock radio programming also informs his weekly analysis of RockStar Weekly Radio's scheduling and playlist decisions.

Beyond concert reviews, Osler covers the Canadian rock radio landscape - which stations are programming what, which acts are getting airplay, and how the Canadian content regulations interact with the commercial reality of rock radio in 2011. His book review of Terry David Mulligan's memoir drew on this background to provide a reviewer's perspective grounded in the broadcasting industry Mulligan helped define.
