RockStar Weekly, Canada's Music and Entertainment Website and Digital Magazine featuring music, movies, fashion and pop culture, is excited to announce the creation of RockStar Weekly – The Radio Show. This one hour weekly music and entertainment radio program started broadcasting this week on stations in British Columbia and Ontario.
Initial stations as part of the first broadcasts are LU Radio 102.7 FM in Thunder Bay, ON, Canoe FM 100.9 FM in Haliburton, ON, 104.9 FM CKCL in Crranbrook, BC and The Arrow 107.1 FM in Nakusp, BC.
“We’re excited to be able to bring RockStar Weekly to quite a few people in BC and Ontario,” said RockStar Weekly CEO and radio host Dan Savoie. “We’re proud of the four stations that are beginning a new legacy in Canadian music and entertainment.”
Savoie has previously hosted the long running rock radio program Rock Hard on CHXL in Brockville (now BOB-FM) and 94.5 FM CHET (now Peace-FM) in Chetwynd, BC. He will often be joined by his wife and RockStar Weekly COO and Director of Sales, April Savoie. In the last 20 years they have interviewed some of music's elite, including Bon Jovi, KISS, Aerosmith, Metallica, Meat Loaf and hundreds of others.
Each weekly edition of RockStar Weekly’s radio show will feature exclusive interviews with famous rock stars, a new and happening Canadian indie band and all the latest new music and news that’s making waves around the world. The first three episodes will feature interviews with Guns N’ Roses, Madonna’s guitarist Monte Pittman and We Are The In Crowd and indie bands Scythia, Tarl and All Else Fails.
Ranked as a Top 100 Music Blog of 1.25 million blog sites by the readers at Technorati, and certified with an award of excellence from the Canadian Web Awards in 2011, RockStar Weekly (RSW) is Canada’s one-stop music website with coverage spanning music, movies, entertainment and fashion.
RockStar Weekly has sponsored several community events around Canada, including charitable fundraisers such as Boobalicious in Toronto and Vancouver, the BC Cancer Foundation’s Underwear Affair in Vancouver and is a proud support of Canadian Guide Dogs For The Blind nationally. RSW was also part of National Underwear Day across North America in 2010, giving away nearly $1,000 in designer underwear to Canadians.
Additionally, RSW has been a presenter and sponsor of Canadian national tours for Aerosmith and Finger Eleven, as well as presenting local concerts for KISS, ZZ Top, Alexisonfire, Bullet For My Valentine, Meat Loaf and several others. RSW has also been a proud presenter of national tours for indie bands such as One, Omega Crom and Versus The Nothing.
In 2011, RSW started publishing a new digital monthly mini-magazine (free for readers), which can be special ordered from Hewlett Packard’s print-on-demand service MagCloud, and in January 2012, RockStar Weekly will introduce RockStar, Canada’s first and only commercial music and entertainment lifestyle magazine.
