Oz Fox Talks 25 Years of Stryper

Interview by Avril Savoie
Exclusive to Rockstar Weekly

Stryper

Oz Fox, lead guitarist for Stryper, took time out from the Stryper 25th Anniversary Tour to talk to RockStar Weekly.

Murder By Pride, the band's new CD which was released on July 21, sounds more like the Stryper we remember from To Hell With The Devil and The Yellow & Black Attack. "Someone said that it sounds like modern classic rock" says Oz in our interview. "Our faith, and everything that we believe in comes out in that album, and it has always been a passion for us is to share our faith though our music".

Oz goes into more detail of why the band originally broke-up in 1992, and what it was like to get everyone back together again. He also shares a little bit about what he was doing after the band broke-up and how he got named Oz.

It’s great to see Stryper back in action and better than ever. What happened between the release of Reborn and now that made the band get back to its roots with the sound?

Murder By Pride sounds like a Stryper greatest hits CD but with songs we’ve never heard.

What was the inspiration when you were recording it?

I heard somewhere that Tim Gaines is now doing the entire show with you guys and not only one set anymore. What happened & does that mean the two set show is now only one?

How did everything go with rehearsals an now on the tour?

Were there any reluctant feelings to get the original line-up back together?

What caused the original break-up in 92?

It must have been a great change, going from Music to working at a warehouse?

So with leaving the music side of things and working at a warehouse, was it hard getting back into the music side again?

It was great to see the Roxx Regime demos get released. Do you think things would have been different if the band wasn’t changed to Stryper?

What will the new Stryper shows be like?

Where did you get the name Oz from?
