Trevor Strand Says The Black Dahlia Murder Changed Songwriting Style For Deflorate

Interview by Avril Savoie
Exclusive to RockStar Weekly

Trevor Strand, lead singer of The Black Dahlia Murder, can't wait to tour Canada once again. He says "Canada has a good metal scene and a good sense of metal history. I feel we haven't done enough for them and it's exciting to be touring there again."

Trevor goes into details about the new album Deflorate, which is available in stores now. He also discusses how the band has improved upon it's songwriting now that Ryan Williams (bass) and Ryan Knight (guitar) have also contributed to the entire writing process. The band wrote the songs for Deflorate as individual singles and not filler tracks, he revealed - everything on the album was meant to be heard and not put on a shelf.

Catch the entire interview below and be sure to check the band out on one of the upcoming Canadian Tour Dates:

Do you do the drawing yourself?

There have been some lineup changes throughout the history of the band? How does this lineup compare?

Traveling across Canada in the middle of the winter!

Is Canada an important market for you?

Speaking of touring, what can we expect different on the new tour?
