PNE - 100 Years Of Fun

Kevin Jardine Is A Slave To The Monarchy

Montreal guitarist and songwriter Kevin Jardine is a man of many talents. Not only is he a member of The Monarchy and the recently reunited Slaves On Dope, he also owns his own studio and produces a variety of up-and-coming artists. The studio is where Kevin shines and where he likes to work. He takes a band into his studio and goes beyond the basic record process to assist them with other elements of their career. It's a bit of Kevin Jardine's School Of Rock.

"I want to pass on what I learned as an artist working with producers who have sold millions of records. Going into a studio and pressing records and telling a band that they are great doesn’t really help them. All it does is stroke their ego and I don’t want to do that. Bands need to learn from experienced people - that’s how they get better." Kevin told RockStar Weekly.

So sit down and get ready for the Kevin Jardine School Of Rock...

Slaves On Dope – You are recording – How is it going?

You seem just as busy as Jason Rockman!

You have been looking for new band members. Have you found everyone?

Personally, who inspires you?

Who inspires you in Hockey?

Let’s talk a little about your studio. When I talked to Bumblefoot earlier and he LOVES his studio. Do you have the same feeling for yours?

I understand that you worked with Alissa from The Agonist. How else have you worked with?

Let’s talk about “Monarchy” for a bit. Can you tell us about the band?

How do you keep the songs that you write for Monarchy separated from the songs you write for Slaves on Dope?

You had a concert on November 27th, How was that?

How do you keep the balance between the 2 bands?

According to Jason, you were the brains coming up with the band’s name.

When is the new Slaves On Dope record coming out?

The Slaves on Dope concert in February, is it in the same location that you originally started out?

To bad you’re not playing our here in Vancouver.

Talking about the webisodes, I have to say, I love them.

Can you tell us what the next episodes will be?
