PNE - 100 Years Of Fun

Matthew Good Brings Vancouver Music to Vancouver City

Matthew GoodFor the third show on his fall tour, Matthew Good stopped into the city that he named his latest album after (Vancouver) for a series of two concerts. Surprisingly, Good offered two different set lists over the two nights, which varied in content, but always included the essentials. Fans at the first one on Nov. 9 at The Centre For Performing Arts, were lucky enough to hear the Vancouver National Anthem, a suitable political song for the city hosting the 2010 Olympics, while those attending Nov. 10 did not get to hear it. However, the Nov. 10 show was a bit longer.

The near capacity crowd on Nov. 9 was enthusiastic and enjoyed the show, especially for a Monday night. The acoustics at The Centre made the music clear and crisp and sounded like listening to a live album. The stage show was rather basic, but the performance was precise. What Good lacks in stage presence, he makes up for in overall performance and judging by the crowd, that's just what they wanted.

Good will continue his tour across Canada bringing the name of Vancouver everywhere he goes this time out. Vancouver is a great city, a great name for an album as far as Tourism Vancouver is concerned, and a great place for a concert on a Monday night.
