RockStar Weekly Salutes Our Nation's Heroes |
|
Please don’t just let this moment pass with out a care. No matter what world leaders are doing, no matter what battle is raging, these people gladly give their lives so that others might have peace and freedom. On behalf of all the staff at RockStar Weekly we would like to give our gracious thanks to all fallen heroes and those still fighting for freedom. Please take a moment to visit the Canadian Virtual War Memorial. The site contains a registry of information about the graves and memorials of more than 116,000 Canadians who served valiantly and gave their lives for their country. Included on the site are memorials of more than 1,500 soldiers who died in service to Canada since the Korean War, including peacekeeping and other operations. The site also contains digital images of photographs and personal memorabilia about individual Canadians. The purpose of the Canadian Virtual War Memorial is to recognize and keep alive the memory of the achievements and sacrifices made by those who served Canada in the defence of freedom and so have contributed to the development of Canada as a nation. |

Remembrance Day, November 11th is a Canadian National Holiday. It is a day we mourn our fallen soldiers, remember the horrific events they endured, celebrate their heroism, and are thankful for their selflessness and sacrifices. We should remember to look around us at the heroes in our community as well. Remember the heroes who fight on the home front to keep us safe and well. Our local Police and RCMP, our Coast Guard and Search and Rescue, our Firefighters, our Paramedics and E.R. staff, anyone who hears the call for help and answers should get a special thought in your moment of silence. Whether they are here at home or far abroad, now is the time to remember our fallen heroes.
