Aerosmith Chipping Away With Steven Tyler?

AerosmithIn separate reports in both The New York Times and Classic Rock Magazine, sources are saying Steven Tyler is done with Aerosmith. Conflicting reports are saying that Aerosmith are contemplating either ending the band or replacing Tyler.

After injuring himself in a fall in August, Tyler returned to the stage with Aerosmith in late October, playing massive gigs in Hawaii and Abu Dhabi. Tyler spoke in a post-gig interview with Classic Rock magazine. "I don't know what I'm doing [next], but it's definitely going to be something Steven Tyler, working on the brand of myself – Brand Tyler."

Not wanting to work with “Brand Tyler” the band is said to be planning a meeting without Tyler to discuss "either the announcement of a long hiatus or carrying on with a new lead vocalist". "It would largely depend on who we could get and who would want to do it," said rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford. "[They are] big shoes to fill. Nobody could replace Steven or imitate him – he's one of a kind. But if somebody was willing to do it and the chemistry was right, why not?"

Tyler has an intimate solo session planned for 2010 - DREAM ON: An Intimate Evening with Steven Tyler, on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, New Hampshire.

The event features a multi-media presentation, stories of life on the road, discussion of Tyler's personal journey including his struggles with addiction, a special solo presentation of two renowned songs, and a question-answer period between Tyler and the audience. All proceeds from the event will benefit Child and Family Services' adolescent substance abuse treatment and child abuse prevention initiatives.

VIP tickets are sold out. All other tickets are $75 - $125 and will be available at the Capitol Center for the Arts, www.ccanh.com, 603-225-1111. More on the show can be found on its Facebook Page.
