PNE - 100 Years Of Fun

Skeletonwitch Ignite The Fire

SkeletonwitchSkeletonwitch, a traditional sounding heavy metal band with influences in black and Viking metal, has just released their new album Breathing The Fire through Prosthetic Records/Metal Blade this month and is currently on tour with Children of Bodom and Black Dahlia Murder, including several successful dates across Canada. The current tour takes the band throughout the US in November, then they then join Goatwhore and Toxic Holocaust for a UK/European tour which ends on Dec. 18.

"My love of the music, meeting everyone and hanging out with everyone is the energizer battery that keeps me going," said Scott "Scunty D." Hedrick, guitarist. "Think about what a lot of people do for their jobs. I wonder how they get up every morning and get to the office for eight in the morning and do that for years and years. What we get to do is much cooler than that. So it's really not that hard if you love what you do."

So get out there and rock it up. The music is raw, the sound is undeniable and the name is Skeletonwitch.

You guys seem to never stop touring. You’ve played more shows than bands three times as old as Skeletonwitch. What keeps you going?

Do you have your own bus or do you travel with a van?

Have you had any time to enjoy the Canadian countryside on this trip?

How was the border? We all know border people just love it when bands come.

Is this your first time out with Children Of Bodom or The Black Dahlia Murder?

Is this your first time in Canada?

You haven’t played in Western Canada then?

Crushed Beyond Dust sounds awesome. Is that an indication of what the new album sounds like?

The production seems to be more full than Beyond The Permafrost. Did you guys record this differently?

How did you get together with this production team?

How about songwriting? How does Skeletonwitch approach songwriting?

You seem to do a lot of talking on behalf of the band. How did you get that gig?

Especially playing as many show as you guys do, how do you keep going? What’s your Energizer battery?

With so many sub-genres of metal, we’ve noticed bands can sometimes get offended that they can be categorized inappropriately. What brand of metal do you consider Skeletonwitch to be?

How did you guys come up with the name Skeletonwitch?
