Marilyn Manson Lashes Out At Austrailian Critic

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson has used his MySpace Blog to lash out against a bad review by Polly Coufos that was featured in The Australian today (Oct. 13). The review said Manson looked like he was singing into a gardening trowel. Coufos also described it as a show that sat somewhere between half-arsed and half-hearted.

Why Manson chose to lash out at Coufos is unknown, but he did leave a strong comment:

"Paula Coufos tried to fuck me... And when I said no she wrote an embarrassing review in the Australian. I hope no one harms her in any creative, violent way. She isn't really smart and her writing is worse than her looks"

Several Austrailian posts have revealed that Coufos is actually a man who uses the pen name Polly.

Manson has been getting flack for not living up to expectations on the current world tour and long-time fans have been worried the "Anti-Christ Superstar" might be ill. Reviews for the tour have been mediocre at best and have left many dumbfounded audiences wondering what went wrong.

RockStar Weekly's Jen Warnock, who reviewed the Victoria, BC show, has similar feelings to Coufos when she wrote:

"I was not expecting a tame, fat "Elvis Manson" in a baggy t-shirt and what looked like a sports bra. He’s not exactly known for being the nice guy but he is known for being intelligent and calculating. Asking the crowd for a $1 bill so he could snort cocaine was not only insolent but a deplorable poke. That trick, also lacking in follow through, resulted only in more beer spitting."
